Over recent years the STR-9 series from Stoeger has experienced growth and popularity in the budget-friendly category. With prices under $400, the series includes mid-size, combat, compact, and subcompact models. However, with the release of the new STR-9F Stoeger further expands the line with its first full-size 9mm model.

With an overall length of 7.95 inches, the STR-9F provides the extended sight radius of a full-size pistol. Riding atop the black polymer frame is the machined slide assembly with Nitride treatment. The slide additionally features robust forward and rear cocking serrations for enhanced slide manipulation under adverse conditions. Also included is a tactile loaded chamber indicator.
The polymer frame enjoys enhanced ergonomics, thanks to the contoured grip with finger grooves. With aggressive stippling patches, the grip also ensures a comfortable grip for quick sight alignment and easy follow-up shots. Similarly, an interchangeable textured backstrap provides adjustability for the perfect fit.
Additionally, ambidextrous thumb-index recesses provide comfort for both right- and left-handed shooters. Likewise, left- or right-side magazine release adds to the ambidextrous operation of the STR-9F. In addition, a three-slot Picatinny rail allows for the addition of optics or lights.
Chambered in 9mm the STR-9F features a 4.68-inch precision barrel. Featuring a trigger safety, the striker-fired pistol is fed via a 17-round double-stack magazine. However, a 10-round magazine is available for those who live in states with low count magazine requirements.
“Developed for shooters who favor the handling characteristics of a larger-frame handgun as well as a greater cartridge capacity, the STR-9F stands on the shoulders of the original STR-9 mid-size pistol—an all-business defensive pistol noted for its high impact performance and surprisingly low price point,” says the company.
The Stoeger STR-9F 9mm Pistol is available now with an MSRP of $329.00. For more info, please visit StoegerIndustries.com.
