The new year brings with it a bunch of new options in the shotgun category; one in particular of note is the Stoeger Freedom Series 12-gauge semi-auto and pump lineup, which comes ready to rock with factory-installed extended magazine tubes to boost capacity.
The first shotgun in the Stoeger Freedom Series is the M3000 Defense. Built around Stoeger’s intertia driven system, this shotgun can be bought with either a straight field stock or a pistol grip stock. Both versions have 18.5-inch barrels; 7+1 capacity; fixed cylinder choke and blade front sights. The M3000 Defense is chambered for 2-3/4 and 3-inch shells and is drilled and tapped for optics mounting. MSRP is $619 on the field stock model and $669 for the pistol grip stock version.
The next scattergun is the P3000 Defense. This pump-action shotgun features a straight field stock; 18.5-inch barrel with blade front sights; 7+1 capacity and a fixed cylinder choke. It also sports a precision-machined anodized receiver along with an easily-accessible cross-bolt safety. MSRP: $339.
The M3K 3-Gun Freedom Series is competition-ready with a 24-inch barrel; 10+1 capacity; oversized bolt released; oversized safety and extended bolt handle to go along with the extended mag. The capacity is 10+1. The suggested retail price on this one is $699.
