Faxon Firearms expands the precision shooting industry with its line of FX7 bolt action rifles. Designed for competitive shooters, hunters, and long-range enthusiasts, the FX7 promises exceptional accuracy and performance, according to the company. Available late October 2023, the FX7 line will offer Precision Rifles, Barreled Actions, Prefit Barrels, and Complete Actions. Options will include 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Winchester, and 8.6 Blackout variants.
The Faxon Firearms FX7 Line
For shooters looking to hit the long-range right out of the box, the FX7 line includes two pre-built precision rifles. The FX7 Pershing rifles are available in your choice of 6.5 Creedmoor or .308 Winchester. Correspondingly, the rifles find their home in an MDT/Faxon Firearms co-branded chassis with an MDT Skeleton stock. Each rifle also features a grey Cerakote finish.
The driving force behind the FX7 is the bolt action constructed of a 416-R stainless steel body. Likewise, the 4340 carbon steel bolt features Faxon’s original flame fluting. In addition, ArmorLube DLC coating enhances the action’s durability while providing a low-glare finish.
The straight, interchangeable bolt handle delivers positive interaction and a 70-degree bolt lift. Compatible with Remington 700 pattern triggers, the FX7 comes with a Triggertech Rem 700 Primary Trigger installed. Additionally, riding the top of the action is a 14-slot Picatinny rail for attaching the optic of your choice. The action is compatible with AICS and AW magazines.
Delivering the payload is the 416-R stainless steel M24 barrel chambered in either 6.5 Creedmoor or .308 Winchester. The honed and lapped barrels are button-rifled to help keep the FX7 affordable. Correspondingly, the 6.5 Creedmoor features a 1:8 twist, while the .308 Winchester has a 1:10 twist.
The recessed target crowned barrels come in 24-inch (6.5 Creedmoor) or 22-inch (.308 Winchester). Each barrel is magnetic particle inspected and receives a salt bath nitride finish. In addition, each barrel features 5/8×24 muzzle threading for attaching a suppressor or other muzzle device.
If you prefer to build your own rifle, Faxon also offers FX7 barreled actions in .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 8.6 Blackout, as well as complete actions. Likewise, the company is also introducing prefit barrels for shooters who would like to fine-tune their rifles.
