Known for exquisitely themed 1911s and Desert Eagles, Auto-Ordnance is bringing back its WWII Commemorative Series 1911s. The series includes the Victory Girls 1911 and the Squadron 1911. These pistols beautifully honor the men and women who played vital roles in our country’s victory in World War II.
The Auto-Ordnance WWII Commemorative Series 1911s
Building on a 1911A1 GI Model in .45 ACP, the WWII Commemorative Series utilizes a classic platform to tell a classic tale. Offered in two variants, the series is available in the Victory Girls and Squadron models. Both full-size 1911s feature a 5-inch barrel and blade front sight coupled with an adjustable rear sight. Likewise, each model includes checkered wood grip panels with the U.S. logo etched on each side.
The Victory Girls model honors the women whose strength drove industry at home, supporting the effort overseas. The right side features a deep-cut laser engraving of “Rosie the Riveter,” while the left showcases a pin-up girl. Likewise, the USAAC Star Roundel is showcased on both sides of the slide. An engraved rivet pattern encompasses the pistol to round out the theme, and a highly durable, worn Armor Black and Gunmetal Gray Cerakote finish protects your investment.
The Squadron model features custom graphics reminiscent of those found on fighter aircraft during the war. Both sides of the muzzle display the “shark mouth” nose art from fighter planes like the P-40 Warhawk. Likewise, a rivet pattern is engraved over the gun with the Army Air Corps insignia on both sides of the slide. Finally, the pistol features a two-color Cerakote finish of Armor Black and Gunmetal Gray for a worn look.
