The eye-catching Spike’s Tactical Spartan AR-15 lower receiver is now shipping, the Florida-based company has revealed.
In a press release, Spike’s says that over a year’s worth of time went into the design and development of this lower. The lower features a Spartan helmet as the mag well. It also works with all standard AR lower receiver parts. In keeping with the Spartan theme, the product listing says the lower was “inspired by the Spartans who closed the Hot Gates on Xerxes,” honoring the “Warrior mindset. Technology evolves, warriors never change.”
Users have the option of personalizing the lower in either black anodized or a custom Cerakote bronze finish.
“We’re excited to roll out this new three-dimensional Spartan lower receiver,” Spike’s Tactical GM Cole Leleux said “This design, and others to come, will turn any AR-15 into a one-of-a-kind weapon, which overthrows the status quo.”
The Spartan lower was designed by Austin, Texas-based design company Rare Breed Firearms. Spike’s is the distributor of the lower.
“This is only the beginning and a first of many designs for gun owners to use to make an AR-15 all their own,” said Lawrence DeMonico, president at Rare Breed Firearms. “Designing and bringing this to life was extremely challenging, but we’re proud of the final result and we know that our customers will truly enjoy this new design.”
The black anodized Spike’s Tactical Spartan AR-15 lower retails for $349.95. If you want the Cerakote bronze finish, the price jumps up to $399.95. Meanwhile, a bronze Spartan set, which includes the lower, upper and rail, is priced at $964.95. Additionally, a Spartan pistol can be had for $2,175, while the Spartan rifle goes for $2,100.
