Wilcox Industries is a “skunk works” for special forces, custom building everything from thermal weapon sights to a unique breathing system for nuclear, chemical and biological environments. The company has developed a reputation in the SOCOM community for its engineering wizardry, being able to turn wild ideas into hard reality.
Here’s an example of their resourcefulness: A special forces operator came to Wilcox with a cobbled-together apparatus that he’d jerry-rigged from a few components, his goal being to make a miniature video recorder to fit on his helmet so he could document and later analyze what he saw during a mission. He wondered if Wilcox could take the crude apparatus and make it work.
