Here’s a list of six new products that grabbed their attention in the August 2014 issue.
DeSantis Buttstock Cheek Pad
Recoil is one of several major factors that can diminish performance and accuracy among shooters. DeSantis’ Buttstock Cheek Pad is an ideal solution to help prevent slipping and harsh feedback to the cheek and neck area. Its hook and loop system with a strap ensures a secure fit that will work with all rifle stocks. DeSantis builds the pads with its Nemesis material, which ensures the padded neoprene will be perfect for comfort and durability. (desantisholster.com; 800-424-1236)
Magpul M-LOK System
In 2007, Magpul Industries designed the MOE slot system as a direct attachment method for hard mounting accessories to a negative-space mounting point. Now the company has unveiled its new M-LOK (Modular Lock) system, which is being released as a free-licensed platform to allow for greater compatibility among accessories throughout the industry. While retaining the elongated-slot appearance similar to the MOE’s, M-LOK slots are larger with squared sides. Optimized for both metal and polymer manufacturing, the M-LOK system is backwards compatible with MOE gear, and it allows for multi-directional mounting with recoil/impact-mitigation lugs. The UnterDuffel also features several rows of seven-channel PALS webbing, grab handles made from 1.5- and 2-inch webbing, three slip pockets, two mesh pockets and adjustable compression straps with quick-release buckles.
