In the upcoming Gun Annual 2014, author Clair Rees, after carrying a Pathfinder for years on countless hikes, is able to test and evaluate a new Pathfinder .22 that incorporates a transfer bar safety, which prevents firing unless the trigger is pulled all the way to the rear, and several other enhancements.
Rees catalogs some of the changes that have been incorporated into the Pathfinder lineup: “The gun now features a one-piece barrel, including a full-length underlug and fixed sight blade. According to Charter Arms, the eight-groove button-rifled barrel seals gases better than the former six-groove configuration, providing better accuracy and higher velocities.”
