VIDEO: Testing the Revived 8-Shot Smith & Wesson Model 648 Revolver

Back in August, to the delight of just about everyone, Smith & Wesson announced the return of its Model 648 revolver. Feel free to lump us in that group of excited shooters.

The first thing most shooters notice about the Model 648 is that lovely eight-round capacity. Beyond that, Smith & Wesson built the revolver on its K-frame, which is the manufacturer’s medium frame.

The revolver is chambered in .22 WMR, which presents just about zero recoil. It also features Patridge front sights and adjustable rear sights. Should the shooter feel so inclined, they can remove the rear sights and add a rail for a scope. It’s a really nice package.

We recently hit the range with the Model 648 at the 2019 Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous. It shoots as advertised and then some. Check out the video above. MSRP on the revolver is $749. For more information, please visit Smith-Wesson.com.
