You’re gonna’ need a bigger safe. Spoiler alert: If you think that’s the only “Jaws” reference you’re getting in this post, you’re dead wrong. Ruger just unveiled its 10/22 Great White Shark Sporter Rifle and it’s worthy of every “Jaws” reference we can think of.
Ruger 10/22 Great White Details
The 10/22 is one of the most popular rifle platforms on the planet. There are dozens upon dozens of variants. Ruger partnered with both Lipsey’s and TALO Distributors on a wide variety of special makeups. The all-new Ruger 10/22 Great White Sporter comes from TALO. What we are dealing with here is a perfect rifle—a shooting machine. It’s really a miracle of evolution (reference No. 2).
The standout feature is obviously the shark engraving on the French walnut buttstock. The detail on the shark is pretty impressive, right down to the eyes … lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll’s eyes (reference No. 3). It also includes other underwater engraving and shark teeth on the forend. The teeth are similar to the one found in Ben Gardner’s boat (reference No. 4). Like the other Sporter configurations, it also features a Monte Carlo style comb and other classic 10/22 styling.
Other features are the same you’d expect from the 10/22 lineup like the legendary action, a detachable 10-round rotary magazine, and a cold hammer-forged barrel. You know the details at this point. If you don’t, you’re more ignorant than Mayor Vaughan trying to reopen the beaches too quickly (reference No. 5).
There’s no MSRP on Ruger’s site, but we’ve seen the rifle in plenty of places online starting at $315. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing (reference No. 6). For more information, please visit Ruger.com.
