The Unitarian Church in Summit, N.J., will be holding a free gun safety program on April 27 as part of a series on gun-violence prevention.
Speaking at the program will be George Faison, a member of the Summit Unitarian congregation and a passionate hunter, and Robert V. Tessaro, former director of law enforcement relations of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, according to NJ.com.
The Unitarian Church in Summit invites these speakers to educate both the congregation and the public about preventing gun violence, prior to a congregational vote in June on taking a public stand on this issue.
Firearm functionality and gun violence statistics will be two of the many topics discussed at the April 27 program, which will end with a question and answer session with both Faison and Tessaro.
The program starts at 1 p.m. The Unitarian Church is located at 4 Waldron Ave. in Summit. All members of the public are welcome to attend.
