After a woman was approached by two men in a van while jogging Monday night in Midland, Texas, the local police department has taken steps to ensure the women of Midland are better prepared for such a situation.
CBS7 in Midland reported:
The other night, however, brought a different scene: a woman was running when a van pulled up behind her, two men got out with the intention, she presumed to put her in the van. Hearing that news is surprising a lot of Midlanders.
The incident prompted Midland Police to start a free Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) class for women. The class will focus on basic combat tactics, however, the idea of the course is to teach women to get away from the situation, not fight.
