The MasterPiece Arms DS38 SC 38 Super Comp
Created with significant input from Team MPA shooters David Lyell and Travis Tomasie, the DS38 SC is based on the success of the DS9 Open. However, the addition of five ¼-inch barrel ports allows for more options with 38 Super Comp loads. Likewise, the custom 3-port compensator provides for a flatter shooting firearm. As a result, you experience faster follow-up shots for better split times.
The double-stack 1911 features a 17-4 stainless steel grip with aggressive texturing for enhanced grip—wet or dry. Similarly, a competition beavertail facilitates a high grip during live fire for ideal control. In addition, the grip houses the MPA competition magwell for faster, smoother reloads to help shave time. Correspondingly, the magwell accepts MBX Extreme magazines.
The DS38 SC features customizations competitors will love, beginning with a Koenig hammer, sear, and disconnector for reliable, consistent action. Likewise, Wolff springs ensure a dependably long life with 7-pound recoil and 17-pound mainspring. The competition-tuned trigger can have the pull weight set according to customer specifications. Additionally, the trigger shoe length is available in your choice of short, medium, or long.
The 5-inch slide features lightening ports and is cut for slide racker and barrel ports. Included atop the slide is the MPA-designed optics mount with adjustable thumb rest. The optics mount is set up for use with C-More RTS2, Sig Romeo 3, and Vortex Razor. Housed within the slide is the Hand fitted 5-inch MPA 416R Vacuum HT stainless threaded bull barrel.
Each DS38 SC is hand-built, including hand-lapping the frame to slide. The pistol’s components are machined in the USA from Barstock and Billet. In addition, keeping the pistol clean and pristine, the parts include no MIM, castings, or forgings.
