We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: we support the right to peacefully assemble and make one’s voice heard in the public square. But we also believe it’s important to be fully informed about that which one is protesting. On Saturday, gun control advocates descended on the National Rifle Association (NRA) headquarters in Fairfax, Va. for the much-hyped “March on NRA” event.

‘March On NRA’ Protest
The event was put on by gun control group called the National Organization for Change, which outlined a series of “demands” on its website, including an “assault weapons” ban; “high-capacity” magazine ban; universal background checks; stopping online access to 3D printed gun files; and pressuring the IRS to revoke the NRA’s tax-exempt status.
The NRA sent an undercover camera crew to talk to the protestors and get an idea of their general knowledge of the issues. The results were illuminating to say the least.
‘Fully Semi-Automatic Gun’ Ban
In the clip below, one protestor says she supports a ban on “fully semi-automatic guns.” Another group of protestors struggle to define an AR-15 and a bump stock.
What do you think about “fully semi-auto” #firearms? These misinformed #protestors seem to think they exist and that ALL #GUNS SHOULD BE #BANNED. #Protest 101: before you make signs and hit the streets, know the basics of what you’re #protesting! Freedom’s Safest Place
In this next clip, a “March on NRA” protestor tells the NRA camera crew that she doesn’t “think it’s necessary for civilians to carry around firearms and things that can kill people in an instant of a second,” adding that she doesn’t “think civilians need guns at all” and believes the Second Amendment should be fully repealed. To cap off her appearance, the NRA crew gets her to utter the phrase, “I am Freedom’s Safest Place,” which is the NRA’s tagline.
Yesterday was #Saturday, which means our HQ employees were at home enjoying the sun with their family and friends. Meanwhile, #misinformed #gun-grabbing #protestors were chatting with our social media team. As promised, here is part 1 of 3. Stay tuned! Happy watching! pic.twitter.com/teB8eDvXB9

Intruders
Last but certainly not least, we have a woman who says, “A gun ban is absolutely what’s necessary. I think that we need to start from scratch with the whole gun issue.” In addition, she says, “We have people who think it’s okay to kill an intruder into their house. If an intruder in your house came before a judge, they would not get the death penalty. Wouldn’t happen. So we need to have a whole mindset reset.”
SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST: This one #gun-grabbing #protestor thinks THAT YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO #DEFEND YOUR LIFE if an #intruder breaks into your house. The #NRA and our 6 million members know better than this and we will never stop fighting for the #2A! #EmptyHQ #FreeIceCream pic.twitter.com/SYWWztnl6Z
