As with 1911s, there is always room for another good AR-15 patrol rifle. A good patrol rifle has to be reliable, durable, accurate, lightweight and reasonably priced. And Huldra Arms’ lightweight, piston-driven patrol rifle—the Mark IV Tactical EVO—is just that.
Huldra Arms is part of Mills Fleet Farm, which was founded in 1955 and started offering sporting goods shortly thereafter. It is one of the leading sporting goods dealers in the Midwest. A few years ago, they decided it was time to expand into less traditional areas of the shooting sports.
First came the name. In Norway, a Huldra (pronounced “hool-dra”) is a mythical creature in the form of a stunningly beautiful woman with long hair and a cow’s tail. She lives in the forest and has long been associated with the hunting and shooting world. One legend has it that if a Huldra is induced to blow down the barrel of a rifle, that rifle will never miss a shot.
