For some, you may have a boss who holds you accountable, forces you to focus, and measures your success. But how do you maintain focus when deciding to be your own boss? What do you do then? What tools do you use to hold yourself accountable?

Not to mention the ability to work on projects that align with your values and goals and the potential for unlimited income growth. Additionally, being a self-employed entrepreneur provides flexibility and control over your schedule, which is often unavailable in traditional employment. Whether you are looking to start a small side hustle or launch a full-fledged business, the rewards of being your own boss can be both fulfilling and financially rewarding. But without focus, it is very unlikely that you will succeed long term.
Because when you are the boss, you are solely responsible for the success or failure of your business. You have less stability and security than if you were working for someone else. You may also have to work longer hours and have more responsibilities than if you were working for someone else. So this will require discipline, motivation, and of course, focus. Pun intended. Remove Distractions

This may mean turning off your phone or email notifications, closing unnecessary tabs on your computer, or closing your office door.
Time Block
If turning off your phone or email is not an option, at the very least, you should time block your day. Time blocking is scheduling your day into specific blocks for specific tasks or activities. You can focus on completing tasks without distractions or interruptions by dedicating specific blocks of time to specific tasks. Be sure you remove distractions first and let your team know that during certain time blocks, you are not to be disturbed unless it is an absolute emergency, and hold yourself accountable to that. If you are trying to do everything all the time, you will get nothing done 100%.

An organized person is a focused person. Being organized can look different for each person, depending on their available tools. But this may mean keeping a to-do list, using a calendar to schedule tasks and meetings, or simply keeping your work area clean and tidy.

Sleep, Sleep, Sleep
