The EOTECH EFLX recently entered the optics world to much fanfare, and at our latest Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous, the company announced its new FDE version. Although it wasn’t ready for prime time during our event, it was officially announced at SHOT Show 2023. As a result, those with an FDE pistol can now match their optic accordingly.
The EOTECH EFLX in FDE
The FDE version of the EFLX is the same sight as the black version, and only the color has changed. Like the original, the FDE version features a heavy-duty aluminum housing with 33 ft water resistance. Also, the square viewing area provides a wide field of view, providing fast target acquisition.
The EFLX is available with either a 3 or 6 MOA dot. Correspondingly, it is adjustable for windage and elevation at 1 MOA per click. Featuring 9 brightness settings, the sight is ideal for any lighting condition. This includes 7 daytime, 1 ultra-bright, and 1 additional setting for Gen I through III+ night vision devices.
Operating on a single CR2032 battery, the EFLX provides approximately 25,000 hours of runtime for the 3 MOA dot at a brightness of level 5. Similarly, it has a 20,000-hour operating time for the 6 MOA dot at a brightness of level 5. The top-loading battery compartment allows you to change the battery when it is due without affecting your zero.
Configured for the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro footprint, the EFLX can mount directly to any appropriately milled slide. However, you can also mount it via a rear dovetail mounting adaptor. Likewise, it can be mounted to a rifle or shotgun as a 1x solution when a magnified optic is present.
Editor’s Note
The EFLX FDE was announced at SHOT Show 2023. However, I spoke with a rep who told me that it would be about six months before we see availability. So, keep your eyes peeled. Six months seems like a long time now, but it will come faster than you think.
