Who didn’t run around as a child, with a revolver-style cap-gun dreaming of the days when cowboys roamed the west? I might be aging myself here, but if you didn’t than you and I had very different childhoods. Whenever I see a wheel gun like the Diamondback Firearms DB Sidekick, I am taken back to those simpler times.
The Diamondback Firearms DB Sidekick Revolver
All the reliability of a revolver, but the capacity of a small semi-auto, the Sidekick has a nine-round cylinder. However, where it gets cooler is its quick swap feature, going from .22 LR to .22 Mag in seconds. Additionally, the Sidekick includes both the .22LR and .22 Mag cylinders. Utilizing a convertible swing out arm not only allows for quickly changing the cylinder but also faster ejection and reloading.
Although the Sidekick follows the classic cowboy style, it also includes attributes of a modern revolver. In keeping with the classic look, it still features the old school ejection rod. However, Diamondback also incorporated the cylinder release with the ejector rod. In addition, the grip panels are constructed of checkered polymer, for a solid purchase. Also, each Sidekick has a smooth black Cerakote finish.
At the end of the 4.5-inch barrel is a fixed front blade sight, coupled with a rear integral sight. The 9.875-inch Sidekick comes in at 32.5 ounces, giving it a real old west feel. Each round is sent downrange via single and double action, through the six-groove, 1:16 RH twist rifled barrel.
The Diamondback Firearms DB Sidekick is available now, with an MSRP of $320. For more info, please visit DiamondbackFirearms.com.
