A carjacker is dead after trying to rob a concealed carrying truck driver working a job in San Antonio, Texas on Thursday night.
According to KENS 5, Joshua McCann is based out of Wisconsin and was in town to pick up a motorcycle from a shop and deliver it to Michigan for a customer. However, the 22-year-old truck driver got more than he bargained for when he pulled into the shopping center.
San Antonio Police said a man pretending to be a police officer approached McCann and told him to get out of the truck. McCann complied, and then asked to see the man’s badge. At this point, the suspect reportedly told McCann this was a carjacking.
As KENS 5 reports, McCann acted fast. He pulled out his concealed carry handgun and opened fire on the suspect, shooting him three times in the abdomen.
Police arrived and discovered the suspect laid out on the pavement. The suspect was eventually transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Multiple witnesses, including employees from the motorcycle shop, corroborated McCann’s story.
