The Sangamon County sheriff’s office announced it will provide Internet access and technical assistance to residents requiring assistance in applying for a state concealed-carry firearms permit.
Beginning January 2014 residents may come to the sheriff’s records lobby, located inside of the Sangamon County Complex, Ninth and Adams streets. A computer will be available to access the Illinois State Police website that includes the online permit application. The setup also will have a webcam so applicants can take the ID photograph and a scanner to scan in the certificate proving the applicant has completed the necessary training.
