Alien Gear Expands Swivel Drop Leg to Include Shapeshifter and Cloak

Last November, we reported on the innovative Swivel Drop Leg extension from Alien Gear Holsters (below). The original design only utilizes the QDS mounting system and could only accommodate Rapid Force Holsters. However, Alien Gear Holsters now introduces a new extension for Shapeshifter and Cloak holsters.

The Swivel Drop Leg extension utilizes the QDS mounting system to quickly attach and detach holsters. However, both the Shapeshifter and Cloak holster systems use their own mounting methods. The genius of each system is that you can move your holster from platform to platform easily. But the drawback is that they are not compatible with each other. This presented a bit of a problem for those with the Shapeshifter and Cloak systems who liked the Swivel Drop Leg.

So, Alien Gear came up with a solution. Specifically, add the ability to attach the Shapeshifter and Cloak systems to the QDS system.

The Shapeshifter holster mount allows the holster to pivot for 360 degrees of can’t in 12-degree rotations. Like the QDS system, the Shapeshifter mounting system features quick detach operation. However, it now comes in the Swivel Drop Leg extension system, allowing you to use it with that platform as well.

Likewise, the Cloak attachment is a little simpler and provides a mounting platform for the Cloak paddle holster. As a result, you can mount it just about anywhere. Just like the Shapeshifter, the Swivel Drop Leg extension system attaches the Cloak mount to the QDS mount for instant compatibility.

Designed with law enforcement and military in mind, Alien Gear Holsters introduced the QDS (quick disconnect system). The system is a means of quickly attaching and detaching its QDS-enabled Rapid Force holster line. Now, Alien Gear Holsters introduces its Swivel Drop Leg extension for use with QDS-enabled Rapid Force holsters.

Part of its QDS line, the Swivel Drop Leg extension is constructed of a high-impact-strength polymer blend. As a result, like other products in the Rapid Force gear line, it’s built like a tank.

The unique swivel design of the drop leg extension moves with the wearer’s leg. So, whether you are running, crouching, or sitting, your firearm stays naturally straight with your leg. The new range of movement increases overall mobility without sacrificing security. Likewise, the new Swivel Drop Leg extension covers less leg space and is easy to reach for a secure draw and re-holster.

Utilizing QDS mounts, the drop leg extension works seamlessly with the Rapid Force LVL 2 Slim holster and Level 2 and 3 Rapid Force Duty Holster. Specifically, this means that you can easily swap between any of the compatible holsters. In addition, you can move the holsters to any QDS mount, such as a vest, to quickly reconfigure your loadout.

Featuring three different length extenders, you can set your ride height the way you want it. You can choose from low, middle, and high. Additionally, a single rubber-lined thigh strap holds the holster securely in place. Finally, the drop leg can be removed from the belt mount, and a holster can be attached directly for belt line carry.
