No stranger to innovation, Alien Gear Holsters releases its latest modular holster with the Photon. The Photon lets you carry how you want, IWB or OWB, right- or left-handed, with the cant and ride height right for you. In addition, the optional mag carrier can be attached as a sidecar or carried separately, IWB or OWB.

The Alien Gear Holsters Photon

Constructed of a high-strength injection-molded polymer shell, the Photon provides a sturdy and reliable platform for your firearm. Likewise, the adjustable retention system ensures a secure fit for your pistol while allowing a smooth and quick draw. The Photon is compatible with a list of firearms from:

Shadow Systems (light-bearing only)

The Photon is available in either light and optic ready or optic ready only and is suppressor height sight compatible. As a result, it can accommodate the most commonly used lights and optics currently on the market today. However, make sure to check the website for light compatibility based on the firearm, as they may vary. Likewise, the optics compatibility is only for optics that do not extend past the front of the optic mount.

Featuring true modularity, the Photon is easily switchable from right- to left-hand or IWB (inside the waistband) to OWB (outside the waistband) carry. As a result, you can carry your firearm in whatever configuration is right for the day’s attire or circumstance. Additionally, regardless of the configuration, the Photon is adjustable for cant and ride height, so you can dial in the perfect solution.

The holster comes with a 1.5-inch and 1.75-inch IWB clip and paddle, so it is ready to be configured right out of the box. Likewise, an IWB claw is also included, so you can ensure maximum concealment of your firearm in IWB carry mode.

Photon Mag Carrier with Optional Sidecar

Along with the release of the Photon holster is the Photon Mag Carrier. Constructed of the same injection-molded polymer as the holster, the durable Mag Carrier is ready for hard wear and tear. Also, like the holster, it includes 1.5-inch and 1.75-inch belt clips, so you always have the right fit.

The Mag Carrier is adjustable for cant and retention, so your magazine is easily accessible and secure. As with the holster, the Photon Mag Carrier can be worn right- or left-hand and IWB or OWB. Correspondingly, the included sidecar attachment allows you to attach the Mag Carrier to the holster for a complete, cohesive unit.

Available in single and double stack options, the carrier fits 9mm and .40 caliber magazines. Similarly, the double-stack model is also compatible with stack-and-a-half magazines.

I’m a fan of modularity in just about everything. Life is complicated enough that I don’t like having to keep track of multiple items that all do the same thing differently. So, when I see holsters that give me full control over how I carry in one model, I’m in. It looks like it might be time to relegate my stack of holsters to the backup bin.
